Highlands County is in Central Florida and has a poverty level of 18.7% which is higher than the national average of 13.1%. Our satellite’s primary focus will be providing food to feed hungry children and their families in a tri-county area. Our secondary focus (goal) is to have extra food on hand for a quick response to feed hungry families in storm ravaged areas.
Our packed food has a three-year shelf life and is prepared by adding water and bringing to a boil.
